School Sucks!
So I am officially PO'ed at the high school's standards! They say that you have to get your research paper done by the end of your junior year, so I wrote a paper and went in to have my research paper and paper proposal checked off. Then out of nowhere, my counselor tells me that I can't turn a paper in this year! That I have to take English 102 at the college and after I write a paper in there I can come back and have it checked off. Um hello? I have so much other stuff to do at the college so I can graduate with my AA next spring! I don't have time to go and take English 102 just so that I can pass a stupid project in high school. First of all, Running Start students should be exempt from that anyway. Secondly, if I keep getting stonewalled when I try to turn stuff in, I'll just forget about the project and punish the school by staying behind and making them pay for another year of college! I know this probably isn't logical, but I feel like being irrational right now. ARRRRRGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, that's pretty much sums up my irritation at the school. Luckily, Mom is on my side and she can turn into my grandma. This may not seem awesome, but Grandma made an attendance lady at my middle school cry once because she was being obstinate and frustrating.
Stay smart people

I was backtracking in your journal trying to find something I thought I remembered and came across this post (in case you're wondering why I'm commenting on this now).

I don't know what they call it nowadays, but when I started college I managed to get credit for a course (a 'B') in composition by testing out. After the arrangements are made I showed up at an office at the college and they gave me a short list of topics to write a composition on (out of the blue / no advance knowledge of what they would be) and it was graded by a professor. If you pass, like I did, you get the credit for the course and don't have to take the class. I know that probably doesn't help you now, but I wanted to share just in case.

Thanks for trying to help me. I got it all sorted out with my counselor. I turned in my paper at the end of last year and don't have to do another one. I also got it so I only have to meet with the counselor once a week instead of taking a class they were going to make me take every day at the high school. Yay!

I'm glad it all worked out in the end. :)
